Sydenham Road

This is the second car park in Sydenham Road that resides on the plot of land that was Lorna's house in 1673. Lorna died after running away from home and falling down the Quarry Pit. Her ghost was seen many times in the house in the 17th and 18th century.

In 1969 when the first car park was having maintenance work carried out, two workmen saw a woman on the second floor. Believing she was a potential suicide, they went to investigate but as they approached, the woman disappeared, awakening stories of Lorna and the old house that sat on the land.

That car park was torn down in the late 20th century and this new car park was opened in 2001.
