Farnham Ghost walk

Farnham Ghost walk

The Farnham Ghost Walk was an excellently put together social gathering for like-minded Paranormal Investigators by Simon aka The Phantom Monk who is the manager of the Paranormal Farnham MSN Group . We would meet at the Bush Hotel, a group about twenty strong including Steven, Sam, Geoff, Chris, Robin & Paul. The gentleman who was running the walk looked like Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing in Star Wars) but he lacked the stage presence and had a voice that was soft enough to sell mattresses on the radio. Due to this and noise of the Farnham traffic, it was difficult for Grand Moff Tarkin to keep the attention of the 20 strong crowd without the force like neck grip from Lord Vader and so a lot of stories were lost on us.

As we walked up towards the Castle, the traffic was quieter and we were able to hear the general of the Death Star talk about the castle in detail, useful for Steven and Paul who would be doing Farnham Castle on different nights later in the year. Paul was filming at this point and Tarkin objected to the filming for copyright issues. Paul normally would object profusely but there wasn't much useful footage here and so the filming stopped.

As darkness fell, the Phantom Monk looked edgy as he was going in to unknown territory (It's an ongoing joke at GH.com that he only does Waverley Abbey in the day which we think is endearing) and we continued the walk around Lion and Lamb Yard discovering more to the stories that we had read on the net and the MSN group. We ended back at the Bush Hotel, settled with Tarkin and headed for the pub to down a pint and chat about future events. A great night, putting faces to obscure MSN call signs and profiles. I am sure there will be more to come.
