Remote Viewing

Remote Viewing

I am going to take a guess at the year this happened as being 1997 as I don’t keep a diary so basing my memory on where I worked and where my friend was living at the time. My friend Justin and I had taken an interest in the subject of remote viewing. Even back then there were quite a few websites with details on the subject and we set up a couple of challenges of trying to remote view different locations. I think one website at the time used to actually post a challenge and you had to visit the location and come back later and see if you were right.

It was all a bit vague a lot of the time and we didn’t really know what were were doing so no great results. Until that is when one evening we were talking on the phone and he set me a challenge just to see if it could be done. He had been visiting his Mother and Step Father that day and his step Father had given him an item that I was to remote view and report back what it was. All I knew from our conversation was that he had admired this item for many years and was very pleased to have been given it. So not much to go on and certainly no hints or clues.

So that evening I lay on the bed and shut my eyes and tried to imagine visiting his house and see what this object was. Initially it was the usual black you would expect when closing your eyes but out of nowhere this medium sized boat with a mast appeared in my minds eye. That is odd I thought and tried to forget about it and try again. But again and again this boat kept appearing. No surroundings just inky black space and a boat hovering in it. Justin had never shown any interest in boats when I knew him and was more into cars and Formula one etc so I thought this was just some randomness my mind was producing.

The next night we spoke on the phone and he mentioned if I had given the remote viewing a try. I laughed and said I had but all I could see was this damned boat over and over. He went very quiet and asked if I was joking or had spoken to his landlady. I told him I wasn’t and hadn’t. He then went on to tell me about how when he was a lot younger he had always admired this model of a boat he had seen when he visited his step dad. His step dad had remembered this and given it to him. I described what I saw and after we finished talking I grabbed a piece of paper and sketched the boat the best I could. I even grabbed a shoe lace and tied two knots in it two measure what I felt would have been the length. That weekend I went round and saw the model boat and my drawing was spot on. I had the shape and the number of masts and even the style of the sails drawn spot on. I pulled out the lace I had in my pocket and from the pole that pointed out from the front of the boat, sorry I am not nautical, to the back the two knots lined up perfectly. We were both amazed. Now I don’t know if he was somehow transmitting something or I had somehow seen something remotely but strangely we never tried to repeat the experiment again with anything else. We would talk about it again over the years but after that week we just parked the idea.
